Local Representative for Cabra, Glasnevin, Phibsboro, Drumcondra and the Navan Road

Hello and thank you for visiting my web site

I am the Green Party representative for Cabra, Glasnevin, Phibsboro, Drumcondra and the Navan Road and am working hard on your behalf to make Dublin a world class city with a quality of life its residents deserve. A history of bad and corrupt planning and under investment in vital services affect the daily lives of all Dubliners. Working together we can improve our urban environment, improve the delivery of services for local and national government and ensure that Dublin becomes a world class urban environment.

Originally from Waterford, I graduated with a BA in European Studies from UCC in 1995. For the next 6 year I worked in IT in a variety of private sector firms, from small businesses to multinational corporations (such as IBM, Shell and BP). I spent time working in Dublin, London and Melbourne. On returning to Dublin in 2001 I became actively involved in politics by setting up a group campaigning for better public transport (the Campaign for Sensible Transport). I believed then, and I still believe now, that the solution to Dublin’s transportation problems is to prioritise walking, cycling and public transport over investment in more roads and motorways.

In 2002 I quit my IT job, joined the Green Party and became Mary White TD’s Campaign manager for the general election. Since then I have worked for the party in a variety of paid and voluntary roles, including working in the European Parliament in 2003 and writing the transportation policy for the 2007 general election.

In order to become a more effective public advocate, in 2004 I returned to college to study law and am now a practising lawyer specialising in planning, environmental and local government law. I live in Dublin Central and have lived in Dublin over 7 years.

Please, take some time to read the information on this site, the campaigns I have been involved in on behalf of the local community and my aspirations for the future of Dublin.  I welcome your comments, and most of all, your help in turning our vision for Dublin into reality.
